My eyes have never been so happily blinded as they have been this month. I have noticed sequins from every which corner and even in casual attire for the past few month. Sure, sequins have been in the spotlight for a few years but there is a glitter boom this month. Just one look at these shiny pieces and you'll be heading down to Hollywood Blvd. or Sunset Blvd. to show off your bling (Or to whichever hotspot your city has). All these sparkles bring a feminine and glamazon touch to an outfit which demand all around attention. Don't feel guilty piling on the sequins! They are a superb trend for every occasion. Spring Trend May Bolt DIY Creativity

Bargain hunting through thrift stores can actually be pretty fun once in a while. I recall a few years back scourging through my neighborhood Goodwill racks and finding tiny straw purses. I was compelled to purchase these items for their distinctive patterns and for that Easter bunny feel. These straw bags prove as an easy project for creativity. Your local arts and crafts store probably has plenty of straw-like materials waiting to be altered with your own touches of color and add ons. With this trend in season, I can only anticipate for the many DIY accessories people will create. Who would have guessed that this thrifty look would come back for Spring 2010. I was used to the summer maxi dress as a signature for well-dressed mid 30's women but this summer it took over all stores. This dress paired with nicely polished and simple sandals gives a very classy look in the sun. Summer is coming to an end soon but the dress will still look nice for the beginning of fall adorned with a thin cardigan.

Forever 21 has up to date cute styles and unique branching lines with contemporary looks or high fashion inspired looks. The fabrics usually only last a season but for the price (usually $25 or less per article of clothing) it seems forgivable. Forever 21 Twist has come up with a new line presented as Cirque 21. These pieces mimic a circus costume chest specializing in lace, bows, and pleated trimmings. Hurry into your local Forever 21 while the line is being promoted. In a couple of weeks the line will only be available at select stores and online. I recommend that you do find the nearest location selling this line so you can try on the clothing before purchasing what looks nice on a computer screen.

Studded Items For Cheaper Deal

Tory Burch will just have to hold off until I acquire the necessary funds for that studded purse. Today I spent the night at City Walk and stepped into Guess only to find a much cheaper studded purse to feed my fix. I purchased the Angie Full Flap handbag in Natural which evens out bright colored outfits and is a subtle pop for neutral colored outfits. (FYI= Apparently this is the only location which sells this style in blue in the greater LA area.) I suggest you buy your studded accessory from Guess if you want to save money in your pocket. The bag is made of partial suede and has gold-tone studs along the trace. This purse is an excellent size to fit your essentials yet not intended as a book bag.

Here are more studded handbags that don't dent your wallet. These are studs in general and not the squared pyramid studs which are shown more in designer wear. Unfortunately I was quite unsuccessful with finding such studs for very cheap.

Tell Me About It Stud

I began noticing a certain trend that bewildered me. The comeback of the studs. When I began noticing the resurrection of the much neglected stud I couldn't help but remember those terrible studded belts and chokers goth kids would wear in the 90's. Don't get me wrong, the 80's studs were preciously rocked by punks to display their rebellious persona. None of the new looks were doing it for me and kept me feeling that this look should rather be kept away in a time capsule until I stumbled across Torry Burch's website. After accepting Burch's superb satchel I became acquainted with other popular designers' stud work and I too will be in line to purchase some sort of studded accessory.

After fixing my records at CSUN I decided to head to the core branch of what began my own shopping addiction. Surely I would shop before I started college but it was never really my own money nor was there an abundant amount to splurge anyway.
Before I began my tiring afternoon at this average Joe mall I paid a visit to DSW Shoe Warehouse with the intention to find tan knee high boots. At last I found some Apepazza Giotto Boot in cognac. Unfortunately they didn't make the final cut because these certain external variables that I will not mention...(panda's fault. I kiiid). At last I entered the mall and felt the sudden need to buy Coach. Who knows why but it was crawling up every which side of me bugging me until I caved in. I am, actually I must say I'm a former hater of Coach but today I gave it a chance and fell in love with 2 pairs of shoes and several handbags. I decided to go with the Pop C Large Wristlet. It's conveniently cute for a club or a lazy day where you don't want to haul around your personal restroom. After I got that out of my system I visited Macy's to look for shoes. After about 2 hours I finally made my decision to go for my current favorite, Michael Kors! He just seems to do hit the spot to my liking for shoe design. I ended up choosing Fulton Moccasin which was a rare choice considering my dislike for flats as of lately. These are ridiculously comfortable and do not elongate or widen the appearance of feet as most flats do. I thought my shopping was over but then once again Reflection convinced me otherwise. I purchased these simple Bamboo Asiana rider boots in chestnut (Carmel) color. Sure they look and smell cheap but are delightful to the eye and add an attractive touch to skinny jeans or floral dress. At last I stopped by Sephora and chose Stila MAJOR Major Lash Mascara. Haven't tried it but I do hope the woman that assisted me has steered me in the right direction for false looking lashes. If not, back to Clinique I go. Here's something PETA will frown upon, Vogue (Aug issue) has announced the comeback of animal prints for fall 2009. Just a reminder to our animal lovers who are stocked with a red paint jar at hand, there are plenty of alternatives for the trend where no animals will be harmed--if you choose correctly! So relax and give the print a try, there are plenty of items to buy from a faux friendly designer that will have you looking outstanding. So keep it simple with this overpowering look and use it to add boldness to a one-color outfit. Tans, reds, and black is your best bet!

Small Road Trip to the 909

The purpose for visiting the 909 has always been to attend raves that are held there. Considering that my bf was raised in San Bernardino county it was only time until I'd drive over there to reminisce with him. I was educated on some Fontana history and some personal history of his as we drove along the city waiting to make plans with his old friends. Some time passed by and we finally agreed to visit Victoria Gardens for some good ol window shopping. I noted that the emo scene still hadn't died out here by noticing the super skin tight jeans, plaid shirts, and vans worn by both sexes. Once we proceeded towards Urban Outfitters I noticed that this particular mall held store based stereo types with no other groups associating with each other. None the less I saw a handful of beautiful sandals and handbags. I really liked this Urban Outfitters because besides the obvious of favoring the $19.99 and under sale, the far back of the store was filled with portraits, accessories, and many apartment accessories. Although my sale hunt was unsuccessful I came out of the store satisfied thanks to the wall displays and mannequin displays. They were a bit more unusual than I've seen around Hollywood or the Valley with a definite flair of mimicking couture. I walked a couple feet further and was captivated with a huge sale sign at Reflection. Shoes for only $10! Sure they're not name brand and probably won't last many seasons but for that price why pass them up. I ended up buying sandals with a wood sole and base, turquoise strap, and small crystal gems places within a crisscross of a metallic band. (Qupid Women's THONG GLADIATOR SANDAL. LEISURE-05) They're really not too comfortable but they give a nice illusion of floating crystals while you can stand them on your feet. This store is a must at any given time since prices are usually less than $40 excluding the Steve Madden selections.

That's it! Elle magazine's August cover featuring Miley Cyrus has completely convinced me to dare to wear the outrageous over-the-knee boots. I have been spotting these boots on the runway and through paparazzi gone mad photos all over tabloids that it's finally captured my attention. They're downright gorgeous! Now the question is, can we (yes, you know it, I'm going to use the word "normal") the normal people pull off this look? With a design that's so in your face it seems as though my regular day to day outfits will just not do for these boots. They may border between hooker material or plain tacky with the wrong outfit. This is a trend I surely do not want to see every single girl wearing but I'd really like to see more ideas for street wear rather than runway with these boots though. Some designers who have dashed into recreating the trend include Jimmy Choo, Giuseppe Zanotti, Chloe, Steve Madden, Miss Me, CO-OP Barneys New York, Vivienne Westwood, Giles, Prada, Gucci, Marc Jacobs, and of course, the break through trend starter for 2009, Givenchy.

Nordstrom Madness

Although my blogs central purpose is to shine the light on fashonistas roaming the streets or hitting up clubs, I have found myself plan-less on a Saturday night. Therefore Who will equal me today, wore what? Well today after a bulldog meet bust, I headed to the Grove in hopes to find a little something for myself since pay day was yesterday. Naturally, my first priority was shoes. At the grove, I noticed a pattern of paper bags from Nordstrom attached to a vast amount of people's hips labeled "Anniversary Sale". Of course I decided to follow the crowd with this one. It had to be THAT good of a sale if just about everyone had that bag. As I entered Nordstrom I suddenly became so giddy with the sight of shoes galore. There were plenty of select name brand shoes on displays with labels that read "sale" and the amount for the entire designer's displayed shoes. Granted the regular price for all these shoes were probably $30 more than the sale price but it was definitely something to swoon over considering the entire table display for the designer shared the desired price.

I have had a terrible, and I mean terrible, addiction to shoes since I was able to play dress up. I dream, talk, and talk some more about shoes all the time. Luckily my bargain hunter instinct has always kicked in during my shoes shopping rage. I have never really been a person to spend a grand amount of bills on a pair of shoes but as I'm getting older and as I'm reading more fashion magazines I too feel the obligation to fall into the habit of Carrie Bradshaw--well maybe not to that extreme.

Loved the color, fit, and thickness of heel. Comfortable to walk in for hours but they do have a constant sliding. Not too slippery on tile. Somewhat of a pain from straps and backing but not to the point of being unbearable.

Very comfortable! They don't slide from side to side and the PU material is so soft to the feet. Color and gem bring a little more to the ordinary sandal look. Not sure how they will do if they get wet though.

I will be choosing my Shoedazzle selection for this month on Wednesday. I'm so excited! I am yet to see Michael Antonio shoes in person though so I'm hoping the quality meets my satisfaction.
